Works as a waitress at Harve's Diner. The only person in Lazarus's life who makes an effort to scocialize with him. The object of Lazarus's secret admiriation. The reasons behind Vanden's interest in Lazarus are as of yet unknown.

Vanden presents herself to the world as an over-confident, street savy young touph. But under the surface, she is consumed with shame of her childhood hardships and fear of having people percieve her as the worthless white-trash idiot that is her personal perception of herself. She makes it her life's mission to exact justice, sometimes dishonestly, based on her subjuctive veiwpoint.

Vanden, despite not finishing high school, (expelled for fighting) is reletively intelligent and spends alot of time reading. Favorite subjects being dark fiction, abnormal psychology, and true crime novels.
